2021 Carménère [clone 2]

Exquisitely unexpected, this is a wine that makes you work a little before allowing you to see under its thigh-high skirt. A conundrum of a wine, it somehow balances concentrated, ripe fruit flavors that lay heavy on the palate, with a counterweight of brightness and elegance that was further coaxed out with stainless fermentation. Loads of deliciously flavored, super-fine tannins bring the thunder and make this ready to pair with almost any meal, though it’s completely delicious all on its own.
